Ringway Jacobs hires 1,000th employee

Ringway Jacobs is celebrating the recruitment of its 1,000th employee – Melanie Houston – who is working on the firm’s Cheshire East Highways contract.

The Chelmsford based company, which is one of the UK’s leading highways service providers working with local authorities, started delivering its first contract in London in 2007. Since then it has continued to go from strength to strength, growing sustainably, especially over the last three years and is now delivering major integrated highways management and maintenance contracts across the UK in Buckinghamshire, Cheshire East, Essex and North East London.

Houston (pictured) has been taken on as an apprentice highways operative. According to the company, Ringway Jacobs is a member of ‘The 5% Club’, an organisation that its members have pledged that over the next five years at least 5% of their workforce will be made up of young people on structured training programmes such as apprenticeship and graduate schemes. Currently 9% of the Ringway Jacobs workforce is made up of apprentices and graduates, making them the market leader in employing young talent.
