£200m Welsh surfacing deal up for renewal

A large £200m framework covering highways and resurfacing work in South East Wales is coming up for renewal for another four years.

Rhondda Cynon Taf is acting as lead authority and today started pre-tendering for several contract packages, due to start up next April.

The region is split into four areas with their own frameworks covering surface works up to £100,000 and larger new projects up to £250,000.

South East Wales Highways Framework Agreement Regions

  • Area A: Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Torfaen

  • Area B: Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Caerphilly

  • Area C: Newport and Cardiff

  • Area D: Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan

Contractors are also being invited to bid for a lot covering £2m-£5m new work projects and another for resurfacing work worth up to £10m covering the entire south east region.
