The Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) has cancelled its Annual Conference and Awards event, which was due to take place on 29th October 2020.
The cancellation also applies to the Member Interest Group (MIGs) scheduled to take place on 28th October 2020
Stu McInroy, RSMA chief executive, said: 'The health, safety and welfare of RSMA staff, member companies and the wider public is at the forefront of our operations and planning during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
'Given the level of uncertainty and associated risk that currently exists in respect of the post-lockdown period, the RSMA feels it prudent to take this difficult decision now and in doing so, provide the RSMA and its members a firm and robust basis on which to plan for the second half of the year.
'The RSMA continues to operate a ‘business as usual’ policy where it is possible to do so within the advice and guidance provided by the UK Government and we continue to support members to the maximum possible degree.'
Mr McInroy added that the RSMA's AGM would still take place in the autumn and, depending on the situation at the time, two MIGs would take place later in the year to maintain engagement with members and act as a conduit for dissemination and exchange of information.
