Strong growth for Aggregate Industries’ contracting division

Aggregate Industries’ contracting division closed 2014 with a 37% increase in volume on the previous year, helped by a number of contract wins in the highways market.

In the north, with the support of the company’s asphalt supply team, the contracting division was awarded its largest single contract to date, the A1 Leeming to Barton Scheme. This scheme is set to run from 2014-2016, during which time 600,000 tonnes of asphalt will be supplied and laid.

Centrally, a number of contracts were successfully delivered, totalling in excess of 500,000 tonnes of asphalt, under the Stoke City Council carriageway framework, the Highways Agency area 9 framework and the Northampton framework, to mention just a few.

In the southern areas, numerous contracts were successfully delivered including works in the Highways Agency areas 1, 3 and 5.
