TRAFFEX expands with rebranded UK-leading events

23/02/2018

The Hemming Group, the UK’s leading multi-platform media owner serving the highways and traffic-management industries, has announced the rebranding of its portfolio of events for this sector.

The world-renowned TRAFFEX name will now be used as an umbrella brand across all the company’s events in this market.

• TRAFFEX, the 30 year old, biennial event for the highways and traffic related sector, takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on uneven years.

• TRAFFEX Seeing is Believing is held at Bruntingthorpe on even years.

• TRAFFEX Road Expo Scotland runs every November in Edinburgh.

The move reaffirms Hemming Group’s commitment to the market, assuring exhibitors and visitors of the quality of these events from its respected and experienced organising team.

Neil Levett, Event Director at Hemming Group and the Publisher of Highways magazine, said: “Since I joined the Hemming Group 15 months ago, we have been working towards unifying these brands. This harmonising of the offering will enable us to stand out from the field, and demonstrates continuity, quality and loyalty for both the exhibitors and the attendees.”

Mr Levett continued: ‘We successfully undertook a similar exercise when we refined our publishing portfolio in 2017. As a result, we lead the market in the publishing and digital area of the sector too, with our Highways and SMART Highways titles and their newsletters and websites.’

Last year’s TRAFFEX 2017 saw 10,000 people come through the doors over three days to do business with 350 exhibitors. In addition, the high-level, strategic conference, the live hackathon, the range of director’s briefings and industry round table debates, as well as the inaugural TRAFFEX dinner, were all very popular.

Preparations for TRAFFEX 2019 are well under way. Taking place on 2-4 April 2019, this vanguard event will once again bring together the key industry stakeholders of Highways England, local authorities, consultants and contractors.

On 27-28 June of this year, Traffex Seeing Is Believing will enable the sector to see the latest products in action in the now familiar ‘Inside-Outside’ format. High-level, CPD-accredited conference sessions are linked to the exhibition, with its extensive outside demonstration area. Here visitors can experience the new equipment and materials being used.

Working in partnership with Transport Scotland and SCOTS, Traffex Road Expo Scotland will take place in Edinburgh on 31 October and 1 November. Focusing on the needs of the Scottish roads sector, this event highlights the key product and service developments.

As well as owning and managing Traffex, Traffex Seeing is Believing and Traffex Road Expo Scotland, Hemming Group publishes Highways and Smart Highways magazines, and produces a number of industry-leading conferences including Cold Comfort and Cold Comfort Scotland. It also operates as a contract publisher and support for many industry membership organisation including the Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT), ITS(UK) and the Institute of Highways Engineers (IHE).
