Mouchel, part of the Kier Group, has been awarded a place on two substantial new Transport Scotland frameworks worth up to £11 million.
The company will provide a variety of expertise ranging from roads and infrastructure design to maritime project management over the next four years (2015 to 2019).
Transport Scotland tendered the frameworks to address a need for engineering, transportation and maritime consultants to support a number of transport infrastructure projects that will be delivered over the next four years. Works procured from the framework will be aligned with the National Transport Strategy, which aims to improve journey times and connections between Scottish cities and towns to tackle congestion and provide access to key markets.
Mouchel is one of five consultants on Lot One for roads, and Lot Four for maritime covering the following specialities:

The two bids were jointly developed by Mouchel’s highways and maritime teams to demonstrate the breadth of expertise available to clients working with the group, and the submissions were praised for being particularly commercially astute.
Norrie Westbrook, Mouchel operating group director, highways in Scotland, said: “This is a significant award for Mouchel and solidifies our position in the Scottish highways market. We look forward to working on this nationally important project and delivering the desired outcomes for our client Transport Scotland.”
