North Midland wins £5m of highways work

The Highways and Special Projects division of North Midland Construction has wone of £5m of new contracts which will start within the next few weeks.

Three of the contracts are on council regeneration projects providing a range of public realm and road improvement works in Solihull, Bath and Sheffield.

NMC is creating pedestrianised areas with the laying of high quality paving, landscaping and the installation of street furniture and lighting. The projects also include the installation of new traffic signals and signage.

NMC is also returning to the University of Liverpool to redevelop and pedestrianise an area of the Quad and provide external paving for new student accommodation.

NMC has also secured the contract for essential maintenance work on the A64 New York road tunnel in Leeds. This will involve strengthening work on the columns, beam repairs and the installation of an upgraded drainage system on the deck of the bridge.

Work on all of the projects is due to start over the next few weeks.
