Amey completes Enterprise deal

Highways Reporters

Highways Agency contractor Amey has completed the acquisition of Enterprise.

The deal makes Amey one of the most diverse players in the UK public and regulated sectors with a turnover of £2.3 billion and 21,000 employees.

The company now operates more than 320 contracts, providing a range of services including: utilities, highways, waste management, rail, justice solutions, social housing and facilities management. Services are underpinned by its consulting and asset management capabilities which allow it to offer stand-alone or integrated service solutions across almost every county in the UK.

Mel Ewell has been named as chief executive of the newly combined organisation.

In a statement the company said: “We will now begin a dedicated process of integrating Enterprise into Amey, while remaining focused on delivering a smooth transition for customers; ensuring service continuity and maintaining operational excellence throughout. The acquisition will allow Amey to respond to the demands of the industry, offering long term value to customers through enhanced capabilities, a broader provision of services and implementation of best practice.”
