Together for Safer Roads has announced its partnership with Sustainia, DNV GL and the United Nations Global Compact to provide road safety solutions to cities and businesses globally.
It says that through the Global Opportunity Explorer, partners are helping government officials and business leaders navigate innovative approaches and solutions to address Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, and Sustainable Development Goal 11 – Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
As leaders in channeling the value of business solutions to tackle the SDGs, the partners vetted solutions, developed by TSR’s corporate and early-stage member companies, to scale their impact across the world’s roads. Four solutions – HAAS Alert’s Responder-to-Vehicle technologies, Octo Telematics’ Octo Fleet, Ouster’s FleetGuide and Zendrive’s driver behaviour identification solution – are being featured as the charter solutions for the program.
“Sustainia is excited to collaborate with TSR to expand the largest industry collection of certified products and solutions to help meet the SDGs,” said Rasmus Schjoedt Pedersen, CEO of Sustainia. “Road safety is a critical public health and economic challenge around the world, and through this partnership, we are helping to increase access to solutions that might help reduce road fatalities.”
In conjunction with the partnership announcement, TSR released its Top Road Safety Innovators List, which showcases promising early-stage companies. These companies are recognized for being committed to advancing innovative solutions to improve road safety, helping create sustainable transportation systems, and partnering with public sector stakeholders to find the best safety solutions.
“As a coalition, we’re committed to expanding access to road safety technology that might reduce crashes,” said David Braunstein, president of TSR. “By distinguishing the road safety innovators, who are investing in platforms and services for safety-first transportation solutions, we hope to accelerate road safety technology and save lives.”
