Rich Marshall has become the latest key figure to leave a position at National Highways for a role in the private sector, joining Carnell as its new engineering director.
Mr Marshall held a litany of positions over two decades working for the Government's strategic road operators, the most recent of which include regional director and transformation and performance director.
Carnell managing director Andrew Sharp said: ‘Rich brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team.
'This new engineering director role will be pivotal in both developing and growing our asset management and engineering solutions capabilities and capacity. We see this as an important new growth area as we look to offer more end-to-end value for our clients.’
Mr Marshall added: ‘I have seen Carnell grow over the years, to be the strategic supplier to National Highways that they are today. I’ve always been impressed with the commitment to providing a great service to clients, with a focus on safety and innovation.
The Carnell ambition for growth and success in the highway maintenance sector excites me and I relish the opportunity to support and influence this ambition in the years to come.’
Mr Marshall’s move comes shortly after the announcement that his colleague Dean Sporn was announced as Skaska’s new operations director, leaving his role as National Highways’ director of enhancements after nearly 10 years.
