Highway Care has appointed former Balfour Beatty communications leader Hayley Terrell as the company’s head of communications and marketing.
Ms Terrell joins the safety and protection systems specialist after a stint as interim head of communications for the M25 at Balfour Beatty.
She was also responsible for Balfour's project communications and community relations at Hinkley Point C.
'Highway Care has huge growth potential with a mission to keep people safer through innovation,' Ms Terrell said.
'My new role will be all about maximising the talent within the business to both realise commercial opportunities and set Highway Care apart as a thought leader in the Highways industry, supporting the people who improve the roads and those who use them.'
She added: 'Moving from a huge organisation to a smaller company means I can play a key role in continuous improvement to help drive business growth. Highway Care is dedicated to innovating to save lives, and I’m looking forward to helping the business communicate the value and positive impact it is delivering across all stakeholder groups.'
The communications boss was already familiar with Highway Care before joining the business, thanks to the company’s recent launch of the automated cone lane machine on the M25. The innovative machines have been supplied to Balfour Beatty to aid safety best practice during road maintenance projects.
Highway Care’s business development director, Ben Duncker, said: 'Hayley is a creative, engaging, and strategic marketing professional who understands our business, our sector and our ambitions. She will be a significant asset to the team as we continue to grow, and this appointment is a key milestone for the business.'
