Milestone becomes M Group Highways under company-wide rebrand

Milestone Infrastructure is being rebranded as M Group Highways, as part of a broader new approach to public relations for the company, which brings together its £2.5bn portfolio under a unified M Group label.

The Group delivers infrastructure services across water, energy, highways, rail, aviation and telecom, to private and public sector organisations across the UK and Ireland.

Formerly known as Milestone Infrastructure, M Group Highways is thought to be the largest highways maintenance contractor in the UK, managing over 50,000km of road.

M Group Services bought Milestone from Skanska UK’s infrastructure services operation in a £50m that was completed in 2022.

The rebrand reflects a shift in the business's culture towards a simplified approach to self-promotion, which is also more 'future-focused, open and collaborative'. The new branding only distinguishes between sectors under the umbrella brand.

Other branding changes:

  • Morrison Water Services becomes M Group Water.
  • Morrison Energy Services, Morrison Data Services and Callisto become M Group Energy.
  • Morrison Telecom Services, Magdalene, Waldon Telecom and Avonline have become M Group Telecom.
  • Dyer & Butler, KH Engineering and Antagrade form M Group Rail and Aviation.

Seeka, which provides specialist end-to-end energy theft and resolution services, will be retaining its brand. Recent acquisitions, AgilityEco and BGEN will also continue to exist for a period of time.

Andrew Findlay, chief executive at M Group, said: 'Our new brand reflects our commitment to be the best and most effective partner for our clients. It captures our capacity and capability for maintaining, renewing and reimagining infrastructure to meet the challenges and demands of a changing world.

'Our new brand and values are a golden opportunity to look forward and be excited about what we can achieve for our clients in future. Our values – open, responsible, together, ambitious – are the cultural core of our organisation. They reflect who we want to be, creating phenomenal opportunities for professional and business growth.'

M Group Services was formed from Morrison Utility Services in 2016. Since then, more than 20 businesses have been acquired, and M Group now consists of a team of more than 11,000 experts operating from over 200 locations.

The company said there will be a sustainable and phased approach to implementing the new branding, starting with changes across locations, PPE and vehicles from this month.
