National Highways has published a preliminary market engagement notice for a Digital Geo-spatial Platform for the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC).
The strategic road authority is seeking a platform that can provide ‘real-time visibility of personnel, vehicles, plant and equipment' and support the ‘proactive identification, management and monitoring' of risk through geospatially enabled monitoring, reporting, alerting and data analytics capabilities.
It also needs to be able to communicate with equivalent contractor platforms and to facilitate ‘programme-wide visibility and information sharing'.
The platform will aid health, safety, wellbeing and security (HSW&S) services, operational delivery, emergency response, environmental protection, productivity improvement and programme assurance throughout the duration of the LTC works.
Currently valued at £2.4m, the contract is expected to run from 25 January 2027 to 24 January 2030, with room for a possible extension to 24 January 2034 that brings the total run time to seven years.
National Highways is hosting a virtual supplier briefing session on 4 September, which will be followed by a questionnaire that will be issued for suppliers to complete within two weeks. Those wishing to participate in the event should register here.
