Wiltshire Council is looking to appoint a supplier to undertake improvement works to junction 17 on the M4 with an estimated value of up to £22m.
The contract is expected to run for two and a half years from 6 April 2026 until 29 September 2028 and will see the successful supplier install traffic signals on all roundabout approaches, widen carriageways throughout the junction, add a third traffic lane to the motorway bridges and widen the circulatory carriageway.
This work is planned to be undertaken in two phases; the first will focus on early contractor involvement and will take place from Spring 2026 to Autumn 2026, with construction taking place in the second phase of the project in 2027.
Enquiries about this contract must be submitted by 5 December 2025, with tenders due on 19 December. The council expects to announce the successful contractor on 23 March 2026.
