The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) is set to take on the new secretariat role for the UK Roads Leadership Group (UKRLG) and the World Road Association's UK National Committee (PIARC UK), replacing the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT).
While still in a standstill period, Highways understands the £415,000 contract is expected to run for just shy of two and a half years once signed.
Once signed, the contract will see LCRIG responsible for the promotion of UKRLG and PIARC's work across the UK road sector, sharing achievements, insights and lessons learned from the UK road sector internationally and providing administrative support to UKRLG and PIARC UK alongside the PIARC General Secretariat.
The award notice stated that LCRIG won out against two other tenders, including the incumbent CIHT's.
