Dumfries and Galloway Council has appointed five suppliers to its £21m roads civil engineering framework.
Covering small and/or medium-scale roads and civil engineering works valued up to £500,000, the framework is split into two lots:
- Lot 1: Small Value Works valued up to £50,000
- Lot 2: Medium Value Works valued between £50,001 and £500,000
Four suppliers were appointed to both lots – Cairn Construction, Hillhouse Quarry Group, J H Civil Engineering and John McGeady – with Lot 1 also having Luddon Construction as an additional fifth supplier.
The first lot is focused on works including drainage improvements, road gully replacements, installation of road signage, installation of gates and pedestrian barrier systems, resurfacing works, and other smaller-scale improvements and repairs.
For the second, the contractors will be expected to carry out public realm improvement projects, road improvements including improvements to junctions, access roads, carriageway resurfacing, car parks and distributor routes, footpath/cycleway construction and drainage, ground stabilisation and flood prevention schemes.
