WSP and KPMG have been appointed to provide technical and advisory support to National Highways on improving access to ‘reliable ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging' at key locations across the strategic road network (SRN).
The contract, valued at £1.2m, will run for two years from 16 June until 30 June 2028.
Working alongside the strategic road authority, both companies are expected to provide expertise, technical assurance, programme support and strategic advisory services to ‘inform decisions' around EV charging infrastructure, electricity network connections, delivery risks, costs, and portfolio planning.
