Lee Hewitt has been appointed as the group business services director for Balfour Beatty.
Mr Hewitt joined the company in 2020 as the programme director for Balfour Beatty VINCI – a joint venture between the two companies that delivered the HS2 Area North civils - and since 2022, he has held the role of group health, safety and wellbeing director.
He has also worked as head of procurement for the National Grid.
Sharing his new position on LinkedIn, Mr Hewitt said: ‘Having joined the business in 2020, I have seen first-hand the incredible expertise, commitment and passion that exists across our teams.
‘As part of the leadership changes recently announced by our group chief executive, Philip Hoare, I'm excited to lead the team who deliver a range of Group-wide services spanning Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Quality, Asset & Technology Solutions, Sustainability & Innovation and the Global Capability Centre that support our business, our customers, partners and the communities in which we operate.'
Adding to this, he said that what ‘energises' him most about his new role is ‘the chance to work further across the breadth of Balfour Beatty, with even more of the talented people who make Balfour Beatty what it is today'.
