Andrew Brown has been appointed as the interim transport network manager at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, taking the reins from Richard Pearson following his retirement.
Commenting on his new temporary role, Mr Brown said: ‘I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues and partners, old and new, in the coming months.'
He added that the retirement of his ‘fantastic and supportive manager,' Mr Pearson, was ‘much deserved' after an ‘inspirational engineering career'.
Having spent the past five years as the traffic team leader for BCP, Mr Brown also spent two years as the chairman of the Institute of Highways Engineers (IHE) Western Branch.
He has nearly two decades of experience with Dorset, having spent over 17 years in various roles at Dorset County Council, before spending another two years with Dorset Council (the replacement authority) as a senior project engineer working on highways improvements.
