Former AtkinsRéalis director Jennie Boyd has returned from a career break as project lead at international consultancy COWI.
Prior to starting a seven-month break in January to undertake research and training, Ms Boyd served as a director at AtkinsRéalis for just over four years.
Earlier roles included six years as a senior traffic technology officer for Highways Agency, followed by a three-year stint as an operational technologies team lead for Highways England (now National Highways). She also served as principal consultant for Atkins between 2017 and 2021.
Announcing her return to engineering consultancy earlier this month, Ms Boyd stated: ‘My career break has come to an end, the research is complete, the training is done, and this week I've begun an exciting new chapter in transmission and renewables, drawing on the experience I've gained since starting my career in electrical engineering.
‘A sincere thank you to everyone who has offered advice, encouragement, and support over the past six months. Your generosity has made a real difference, and I'm excited to see what this next chapter brings.'
