Waterman Group has appointed John Suckling as dynamic response intelligent monitoring system (DRIMS) lead.
Mr Suckling spent the past eight years working at the City of Wolverhampton Council, initially as a technical specialist and more recently as an urban traffic control technical specialist control room supervisor.
He has also served as a CCTV and control room operator for Man Commercial Protection and Wolverhampton BID.
Based in the company's Birmingham office, Mr Suckling will bring ‘extensive experience' working within local-authority highway and transportation environments.
His expertise covers urban traffic control (UTC) systems, roadside technologies, and real-time operational platforms, alongside hands-on highways inspection, defect identification, and risk assessment.
Mr Suckling will also work alongside experts from Japanese engineering consultancy and Waterman's parent organisation, CTI International, to help the group achieve PAS 2161 accreditation, the new standard for road condition monitoring.
