Duraproducts, a leading supplier of sustainable infrastructure products, has appointed former Kelly Bros and Clearway boss, Ned Birley, as general manager for its kerbing solutions team.
The company said the senior role has been created to accelerate the company's growth, after it secured an updated BBA HAPAS certification for Durakerb, its recycled polymer kerbing solution.
This certifies the product for use across the UK's national highways network for the first time. In parallel, the National Highways Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works has been updated to include Polymer Kerbs in national specifications – removing long-standing barriers to the adoption of recycled materials.
Mr Birley has been tasked with leading the expansion of Duraproducts' kerbing portfolio by 'helping more organisations specify polymer kerbs in their projects'.
'Joining Duraproducts at this moment feels like exactly the right move. The opportunity to take a product like Durakerb, with its credentials and approvals now firmly in place, and convert that into real growth is something I am excited to get started with,' Mr Birley said.
He most recently served as head of commercial for the UK at Kelly Bros International, and has also held senior roles at the Clearway Group, USL Group, Polypipe, and Stirling Lloyd Polychem Ltd.
Phil Sutton, founder of Duraproducts, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Ned to the Duraproducts team. His experience and leadership will be instrumental as we accelerate our kerbing solutions strategy and strengthen our position in the market. Ned brings a clear, structured approach to delivering specification-led growth, and I have no doubt he will make an immediate impact. On behalf of the board, I wish him every success in his new role.'
