Former Amey technical director Craig Steel has left the company after nearly 20 years to take on the role of senior design manager at Balfour Beatty.
Mr Steel said: ‘I'm delighted to have started a new role with Balfour Beatty. I'm excited by the challenge ahead and the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects.'
As a chartered civil engineer specialising in major bridge and infrastructure asset management, Mr Steel has led the design, maintenance, and delivery of trunk road and rail infrastructure projects across Scotland, including minor repairs and complex refurbishments.
Mr Steel spent just over 19 years working with Amey; having started as a graduate, his most recent role at the company was as technical director for structures for the past three years.
‘Having joined as a graduate,' he commented, ‘Amey has been a significant part of my career, and I'm grateful for the opportunities and experiences I've gained along the way.'
He concluded that he was ‘looking forward to what lies ahead!'
