Emily See has officially handed over the reins of the Local Government Technical Advisers Group (LGTAG) presidency to Scott Lester, stepping down from the role at the end of her year-long term.

Marking the moment with a post on LinkedIn, Ms See said: ‘It's hard to put into words what this past year has meant. Without a doubt, it's been one of the highlights of my career so far.

'LGTAG is an organisation that has played a huge role in shaping who I am today, and it brings together some of the most knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely inspiring people in our sector. It's a community where we stay curious, challenge each other, and, most importantly, support one another.'

Looking back over her stint as president, she noted a few highlights, including hosting the LGTAG conference, supporting the return of the Department for Transport Incentive Funding, bringing sector groups together for ‘their first collaborative meeting' and even acting as guest editor of the August/September 2025 issue of Highways, during which she and other LGTAG members focused on asset management.

Ms See also said that the support she had received ‘from across the sector' has been incredible and she was ‘hugely grateful for it'.

She added: ‘I'm really looking forward to supporting Scott as incoming President, and to continuing my involvement with LGTAG as we encourage even greater collaboration across the sector.

‘Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.'
