This year's nominations for the Highways Magazine Excellence Awards are now open.The prestigious event, which takes place in London in October, includes the ITS category, "Award for the best use of new technology in the Highways Industry",#HMEABestNewTech, which was won last year by Elgin, Cheshire East Council & Ringway Jacobs.
It is Awarded to an organisation or local authority which can demonstrate that they have or are making a significant improvement to the highways industry through the implementation of new technology, this could be new software, innovative equipment or an ITS solution. ?The technology should have been deployed or have been on test for at least twelve months prior to entry with clear evidence of its benefits by deployment on one or multiple schemes.
The Highways Magazine Excellence Awards were established to acknowledge and encourage best practice within the industry and over the past twelve years this has developed into an event twice the size which now champions innovation, efficiency, safety and sustainability in all areas of highways.A full list of categories and details of the event are here.The event takes place at the Radisson Blu in London on 6th October.
