Uber has decided to focus its efforts on driverless cars, meaning a halt to the development of self-driving trucks.
Talking of the decision to concentrate on cars, Eric Meyhofer, head of Uber Advanced Technologies Group, said, “We believe having our entire team’s energy and expertise focused on [self-driving cars] is the best path forward.”
Earlier this year the company had announced its plans to use manual mode for short distance journeys and self-driving for longer distances.
The company says its plans for Uber Freight is unaffected by the decision.
