The new M1 Junction 37 has been unveiled - fully signalised with MOVA, SCOOT and UTC automatic strategies.Based on designs supplied by Siemens Consultancy Services, the roundabout at the junction of the motorway and the A628 Barnsley to Manchester road has been upgraded from the existing priority controlled roundabout to a fully signalised system.Siemens says signalising the junction will control the heavy traffic flows which previously lead to congestion and delay and will also ensure that motorway slip lane queues are controlled and will provide better access to the nearby Capitol Park business units.A plaque unveiling was carried out by Mayor of Barnsley Cllr Brian Mathers, Council Leader Cllr Sir Stephen Houghton CBE and Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, Cllr Roy Miller. Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: 'This scheme has provided a high quality, efficient transport system which addresses areas of congestion and helps reduce time lost by businesses and the travelling public, as well as making the borough attractive to businesses looking for employment land.'Picture - Left to right: Director Mick?
