The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has announced the award of 10 individual bursaries to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Institute.

Following the assessment of applications in three separate categories, bursaries totalling over £18,000 have been awarded to:

Early Years Awards - to assist IHE students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in civil or transportation engineering:

  • Ross Bailey

Professional Registration Awards – for IHE members seeking professional registration, helping to overcome financial barriers in their journey towards IEng or CEng status.

  • Ghulam Shaikh

Personal Development Awards – to support IHE members in pursuing advanced training, certifications, or innovative projects which will have a positive future impact on the industry.

Dashielle Enriquez said: 'This bursary will be a massive help in completing my degree with more confidence as someone who is living away from home to pursue a degree and achieve a professional qualification, which are all steps in advancing my career in the Highways industry.'

Daniel Green said: 'I'm deeply grateful to the IHE for this bursary award, which will greatly support my journey toward Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration. This support will allow me to further invest in my professional development while continuing my BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management at the University of South Wales.'
