£120m highways framework on the way for Herefordshire

Herefordshire Council has announced plans to set up a new framework for the highways and public realm schemes with an estimated value of £120m.

The aim is for the framework to form part of a ‘mixed economy model’ for the council and run alongside the council’s new £200m public realm contract that will come into place on 1st June 2026 and is expected to run for up to 10 years.

The council stated that ‘at this stage, it is envisaged that the framework could include lots’ that would include civil engineering, carriageway and footway surfacing, surface dressing and other thin surface treatments, highway structures, and traffic signals.

It added that the framework may also include a lot covering the provision of tree surveys.

The new framework is expected to run for four years from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2030.

Those wishing to engage with the council on the creation of this framework must do so by 27 October 2025
