Holcim UK has acquired an asphalt plant in Sharpness, improving its offering in the Gloucester and south west area.
Holcim UK purchased the plant from Sharpness Asphalt Limited, which holds an accessible location next to the wharf in the Sharpness area of Gloucester.
The plant will be closed for minor refurbishments and is planned to reopen next month as a Holcim Express Asphalt site. According to Holcim UK, the site specialises in the collection of small loads, meaning it guarantees a 30-minute turnaround time on single product loads.
Lee Sleight, chief executive officer of Holcim UK, said: ‘This acquisition further strengthens our position in the asphalt market and bolsters our presence in the Gloucester and south west area. We see it as being a perfect fit for our Express Asphalt business and we are excited to see what it can offer to customers in the area.
