Lancashire County Council has awarded a highways asset management systems (HAMS) contract worth up to £10m to Brightly Software.
The contract will run for an initial period of five years from July 2025 to July 2030, but there is also the potential to extend this contract up to five times.
Each possible extension would run for 24 months, meaning that the full length of the contract could potentially run for 15 years. The spend over the full 15 years 'is estimated to be up to £10m', the award notice states.
Brightly will provide the county with HAMS - software that helps optimise the allocation of resources for the management, operation, preservation and enhancement of the highway infrastructure.
The contract was awarded to Brightly after a total of four tenders were submitted.
The contract agreement was let based on the UK Cabinet Office's Model Services Contract for high value, complex services.
