RoadPeace has appointed Kate Davidson MBE as its new chief executive officer.
The national charity for road crash victims said Ms Davidson will officially begin her role on 30 September, ‘bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting the bereaved’.
She succeeds Nick Simmons, who stepped down earlier this year after six years in the role.
RoadPeace said it is grateful for his service and looks forward to the new direction and leadership that Ms Davidson will bring.
Ms Davidson (pictured) has more than 15 years of experience in the bereavement and end-of-life sector, having begun her career in local government bereavement services before she moved to Dignity Plc, where she was promoted from chief operating officer to chief executive in 2022.
She was awarded an MBE in 2022 for her services to bereaved people during the pandemic.
She said: ‘I have been deeply inspired by the amazing work of RoadPeace – not only their commitment to providing meaningful care and support to victims who have been terribly affected by road crashes – but also the tireless work that they do to reduce road danger for the benefit of us all.
‘I look forward to making a real difference to people with this inspirational and important organisation.’
RoadPeace said it is confident that Ms Davidson’s leadership will help it continue its vital work of supporting people bereaved or seriously injured in road crashes and engaging in evidence-based policy and campaigning work to fight for justice for victims and reduce road danger.
Petra Kendall-Raynor, chair of its Board of Trustees, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Kate to RoadPeace.
‘Her vast experience and unwavering commitment to supporting the bereaved align perfectly with our mission. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our organisation and the communities we serve.’
