Dynniq awarded five-authority framework deal

17/08/2016 | HIGHWAYS REPORTERS

Dynniq has been awarded a single traffic signals framework agreement covering five individual local authorities.

Cambridgeshire County Council, Peterborough City Council, Luton Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council issued a single tender which covers a combined total of 825 traffic signals (junctions and pedestrian crossings).

The authorities say it provides better taxpayer value because all associated and fixed costs (people, procurement and central business support) are shared between them.

The scope includes all equipment maintenance (working day with 24 hour emergency cover), technology supply and installation activities. In addition to the maintenance, Dynniq will also be required to supply and install new traffic signal systems for all council led projects to include controllers and signal heads. The contract is scheduled to begin in September 2016 and will run for five years with a three year extension against tightly managed key performance targets.

Richard Ling, signals and systems manager of Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “All of the five local authorities in the framework are looking forward to working with Dynniq on this exciting new project. In having just one contractor to deliver both the maintenance and installation service we have reduced costs and improved efficiency.”
