EM Highway Services (EM) has officially opened its new London depot.
The highways service provider is hosting a three-day safety, health and environment (SHE) fayre delivered in collaboration with other London contractors.
EM which manages and maintains roads across London for a number of authorities invited employees, employers, fellow London contractors and guests from its supply chain, stakeholders as well as students from the University of Greenwich and Construction Youth Trust to take a tour around various stands, enjoy displays, watch short films and take part in activities.
The aim of the event, which was held at EM’s new, purpose-built depot in Tunnel Avenue, Greenwich, was to promote the importance of staying safe, keeping healthy and protecting the environment.
The new depot comprises office space for more than 150 members of staff and operatives and a salt barn that will store up to 6,000 tonnes of salt. The new space also includes a dedicated training room for up to 100 people.
