Haluch named managing director of Amey's highways business

James Haluch has been appointed managing director of Amey's newly formed highways business.

It’s one of four new business units of the company, set up since the appointment of CEO Andy Milner.

Amey say Haluch (pictured), a chartered civil engineer, has “a significant track record in delivering strategic highways integrated services.” He recently joined Amey from Mouchel where he spent 25 years, latterly as part of EM Highways.

“With an excellent track record as a senior leader in the highways market, he holds strong relationships with key clients including Highways England and Traffic Scotland,” Amey said in a statement. “His recent successes include the successful Forth Road Bridge strengthening project and securing the new £300m Highways England Area 7 contract.”

Haluch said: “The creation of the highways business unit will deliver new synergies that will translate into significant benefits for our clients. I am delighted to have been offered this opportunity and look forward to working with my fellow executives to develop an already a very strong, exciting business.”

Speaking about Haluch’s appointment, Milner added: “Since joining Amey last year, James has had a major impact on our reputation in the highways market both with clients and road users. His extensive highways experience will be critical to help us continue to improve the UK’s highways infrastructure.”
