Highways Magazine's longtime charity partner The Lighthouse Club has launched an urgent national appeal for everyone in construction to donate to a Construction Workers Family Crisis Fund.
You can donate to the fund here.
The construction charity has pledged that every penny will be used to give support to those in need and none of the money raised for this fund will be diverted to charity overheads.
The Lighthouse Club provides vital financial and counselling support to construction workers and their families.
Since the start of the coronavirus crisis, its national Construction Industry Helpline has received an unprecedented volume of calls from construction workers and their families seeking help.
Bill Hill, CEO Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, said: 'Many workers in the construction industry are only one paycheck away from poverty. The Lighthouse Club simply does not have the resources to support all those in need.
'Our target is to raise £1m for our construction workers in crisis. If you can’t support us financially then please help us spread the word about our 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and app.'
As with so many charities, the global pandemic has wiped out the Club's event schedule for the year both nationally and regionally, which will have a huge impact on its income an ability to carry out its charitable work.
