A £138m two-year contract has been tendered by the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) for infrastructure works to support the delivery of a ‘21st-century Garden City' in Ebbsfleet, North Kent.
The EDC said it is procuring suppliers to deliver Ebbsfleet Central, the ‘civic and commercial heart' of the Garden City scheme, which is focused around Ebbsfleet International Train Station.
Work will be split into two lots:
- Lot 1 - highways, utilities and associated landscaping
- Lot 2 - buildings, structures and associated landscaping
The contract is expected to run from 13 April 2028 to 9 May 2030, with a possible extension bringing the end date to 8 August 2030 for a total run time of two years and three months.
Lot 1, which focusses on the highways and related utilities work, has an estimated value of up to £66m, with Lot 2 valued at up to £72m.
Those wishing to enquire must do so by 2 February 2026, with tenders due for submission by 16 February.
Following this, EDC plans to announce the successful suppliers by 18 January 2027.
The EDC was established in 2015 to speed up the delivery of up to 15,000 homes and create a 2 Garden City in Ebbsfleet.
