WSP UK is in line for a £240m consultancy and management contract with Wiltshire Council.
Under this new contract, WSP will be responsible for producing and managing the ‘successful delivery of highway schemes' while ensuring compliance with ‘statutory and legal requirements' as well as additional design and planning projects ‘as required'.
The contract is expected to have an initial six-year run from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2032, with two possible extensions of two years each bringing the final date to 30 November 2036.
While Wiltshire has announced that WSP are to be appointed to the contract, it remains under standstill until 6 August, with the earliest date the contract will be signed currently set as 30 September.
This standstill period will allow the three unsuccessful suppliers - AtkinsRéalis UK, Jacobs U.K. and M Group Highways – to challenge the decisions if they wish to.
