Torridge District Council has tendered a new £7.2m contract for the development of land next to Hatchmoor Road, a project that is set to include the creation of a new junction, an estate road and associated drainage works.

Set to run from 27 July 2026 to 20 December 2027, the contract will see the successful supplier:

  • Construct a new highway junction and estate road off Hatchmoor Road, along with associated off-site highway improvements to support the site
  • Install drainage infrastructure for both surface and foul water, including the potential use of soakaways for sustainable surface water management
  • Upgrade existing electrical and fibre networks to ensure sufficient capacity for the proposed development
  • Deliver employment buildings through the construction of various units of varying sizes.

Companies wishing to enquire about the contract must do so by 8 May, with tenders then due for submission by 22 May 2026.

The council said it expects to announce its decision on 22 July.
