AppyWay, the digital Traffic Order specialist, has announced a strategic partnership with Brightly Software to support highway authorities in managing digital traffic regulation orders (D-TROs) and kerbside infrastructure through connected systems.

The partnership will integrate AppyWay's Traffic Suite software, which manages kerbside and traffic regulations, with Brightly's Confirm asset management system.

The move comes as highway authorities prepare for the switch to D-TROs. Regulations are expected to come into force this year, which mean authorities must publish new traffic regulation orders digitally and, as per the Automated Vehicles Act, maintain digital versions of all orders.

AppyWay's Traffic Suite allows authorities to create, manage and publish digital traffic regulation orders using a map interface. When integrated with Confirm, this information can be connected to asset records, work programmes and operational activities across the highway network.

The combined solution will help teams to make better operational decisions when scheduling works and maintenance and simplify procurement, AppyWay said.

Chris Thompson, sales director at Brightly Software, which is a Siemens company, said: 'We recognise that highway authorities are under increasing pressure to digitise their services and meet new regulatory requirements.

'By partnering with AppyWay, we can extend the capabilities of Confirm to support digital traffic regulation orders and kerbside management, thereby helping our customers to manage their networks more efficiently while preparing for upcoming legislation.'

'Our partnership helps highways authorities turn compliance into a practical advantage to give their teams clearer visibility, more efficient coordination and ultimately, more control over how their networks perform,' said Mike Potter, head of commercial at AppyWay.
