Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has tendered a £60m framework covering four lots - surfacing, civils, cold milling and repairs to asphalt surfaces - each of which could run for up to four years.
Each lot runs for an initial two years from 1 August to 31 July 2028, with the option of two 12-month optional extension periods taking the deal through to 31 July 2030.
- Lot 1 - Surfacing £24m, including VAT,
- Lot 2 - Civils £24m including VAT
- Lot 3 - Cold Milling £6m including VAT
- Lot 4 - Repairs to Asphalt Surfaces £6m including VAT
While the maximum number of suppliers is advertised as unlimited, the council referred to 'all three successful contractors' who gain a place on lots 1 or 2 'will be invited to participate in a further competition for a works scheme'.
All work under lots 3 and 4 of this framework will be awarded without further competition.
Contractors have until 3 June to enquire and 10 June to submit a bid for the contract.
The award criteria is 60% quality, 25% price and 15% social value.
