A £4.8m materials framework awarded by Cumberland Council at the end of last year has now had the materials confirmed.
Split into four lots based on the materials to be provided – bituminous materials, ready mix concrete, dry aggregates and miscellaneous road repair products – the framework was awarded to six suppliers:
- Breedon: appointed to Lots 1 and 3
- Colas: appointed to Lot 4
- Handy Concrete (Cumbria): appointed to Lot 2
- James A. Jobling and Co.: appointed to Lot 1
- Red Stag Materials: Appointed to Lot 4
- Tarmac: appointed to Lots 1 and 3
Running for three years from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2029, all suppliers will deliver materials to ‘facilitate highway maintenance works' to repair potholes and worn-out carriageway carried out by the council's in-house operations teams.
