Derbyshire County Council is starting work on a Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS) Reactive and Maintenance Works contract valued at £24m.
The county authority plans to conduct pre-market engagement in early August, allowing interested parties the opportunity to review and comment on the draft scope and pricing schedule of the contract. This will be used to help inform the final procurement documents and ‘ensure they reflect current market capability and best practice'.
Included in the contract is the inspection, design, maintenance, repair, replacement and installation of Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS) across Derbyshire's network.
An initial year-long contract will run from 5 October 2026 to 4 October 2027, with three 12-month extensions taking the end date to 4 October 2030 and the total run time to four years.
Publication of the tender notice is currently set for 7 September, with tenders then due for submission by 21 September.
The successful supplier is expected to be announced by 2 October.
