Dorset council has published a pipeline notice for a framework covering waste and recycling works related to any highway maintenance undertaken by the county.
Valued at an estimated £2.64m, the framework is expected to cover the provision of recycling and disposal facilities for ‘various waste streams arising from the Council's highway maintenance activities in Dorset', including highway maintenance wastes from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
The dates for the contract are currently set for 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029, with a possible extension to 30 September 2034, bringing the total length to eight years.
Dorset Council did add that this framework ‘is solely concerned with gate fees, it is not about transporting waste from one place to another,' with transportation of material expected to be covered by a separate framework that it plans to run along similar time scales to this one.
The tender notice is currently expected to be published on 27 July.
