Devon County Council has appointed a slew of suppliers to its £78m minor engineering works framework for 2026 to 2030.

Running for four years from this month to 31 March 2030, the contract is split into six lots:

  • Lot 1: Highways work orders ≤ £200,000 – estimated value of up to £12.36m
  • Lot 2: Structures work orders ≤ £200,000 – estimated value of up to £8.28m
  • Lot 3: Highways work orders > £200,000 and ≤ £1,000,000 – estimated value of up to £22.56m
  • Lot 4: Structures work orders > £200,000 and ≤ £1,000,000 – estimated value of up to £15m
  • Lot 5: Combined structures and highways work orders >£1,000,000 and ≤ £4,000,000 – estimated value of £15.6m
  • Lot 6: Rail interface structures work orders up to £1,500,000 - estimated value of up to £4.2m

A total of 17 suppliers were appointed across the lots, with the company Bridge Civil Engineering taking a prominent place among the group with spots on the first five of lots.

It is joined on the framework by companies including Kennford Tarmacadam, which is part of the first four lots, Associated Asphalt Contracting, which is participating in Lots 3, 5 and 6, and Montel Civil Engineering, which can be found taking part in lots 3, 4 and 5.

The first four lots have six suppliers apiece, with Lot 5 gaining two more for a total of eight, and Lot 6 having just two companies appointed.
