Kent County Council has tendered a specialist highway support services framework valued at £4.8m.
The contract will run from 13 April 2027 to 12 April 2030, with a possible extension to 12 April 2031, and is split into three lots:
- Lot 1 – Independent Cost Consultancy
- Lot 2 – Specialist Utility Support
- Lot 3 – Programme Review Support
Lot 1 will see suppliers provide independent cost consultancy services for highway and transportation schemes across Kent, including quantity surveying, risk management and value management, along with support in the preparation of NEC contract documents and in the evaluation of tenders.
Those appointed to this lot will also be expected to support the NEC project manager during the construction of major highway and transportation schemes.
Those appointed to Lot 2 will provide specialist utility support to ‘improve dialogue and cost certainty' with utility companies around diversions and scheme impacts following the NRSWA processes.
Finally, Lot 3 will deliver NEC programme review support for schemes in both design and construction stages to ensure compliance with ‘scope and appropriate links, durations and logic'.
Those wishing to participate in the framework have until 21 August to submit enquiries. Following this, requests to participate are due by 31 August, with the council expecting to announce the successful suppliers by 19 February 2027.
