Leicestershire County Council (LCC) has tendered a highway maintenance resources framework at an estimated value of £14.4m.
Those appointed to the framework will need to match the council's ‘anticipated need' for eight teams of two highway maintenance operatives with a 7.5t drop side lorry, as well as two operated backhoe/loader excavators.
With a total duration of four years, the contract will initially run from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2028, but allows for two optional extensions of a year each, bringing the final end date to 31 July 2030.
LCC stated in the tender notice that these optional extensions ‘will be offered subject to the successful Bidders/Suppliers achieving minimum scores for key performance indicators'.
LCC has stated that it will only appoint a maximum of five suppliers to this framework.
Those wishing to enquire about the framework must do so by 19 June, with official tenders then due for submission by 3 July. The council expects to announce the successful suppliers by 24 July.
