Multevo has become one of the founding partners of Highways Mind Health Association (HMHA), an industry-led, nonprofit community interest company ‘on a mission to make positive mental health and psychological safety the norm'.
The Lancashire-based company said it has seen ‘first-hand' the increasing pressure across the highways sector and the importance of supporting people in a way that is ‘practical, consistent and embedded in how they work'.
A spokesperson said it ‘recognises that more needs to be done as a collective' to not only support those already in the sector but also encourage more young talent to enter the sector, and added that partnering with HMHA is ‘the next step to help achieve this'.
HMHA aims to create the opportunity for a ‘more collective, bespoke approach' by bringing the sector together to share learning, raise standards and take a more joined-up view of mental health in an industry that faces ‘its own unique pressures'.
As a founding member, Multevo will help shape the organisation and its work ‘from the outset' and hope to make ‘a real and lasting difference'.
Aimee Dewse, head of marketing at Multevo, commented: ‘We've always believed that looking after our people goes beyond providing good benefits and support services. It's about creating an environment where people feel valued, listened to and comfortable talking about how they're doing.
‘We've made positive steps at Multevo and HMHA gives us the opportunity to learn from others across the sector and contribute our own experiences as we continue to develop.'
Sam Munslow, founder of HMHA, added: ‘The highways sector is asking more of its people than ever, and we can't keep treating pressure, stress and burnout as simply part of the job.
‘Mental health is fundamentally a people, leadership and resilience issue, and it has a direct impact on how well our organisations perform.
‘Multevo's commitment as a founding partner shows what can happen when businesses choose to put their people at the heart of the future of highways.'
