Six contracts that were signed in the latter half of 2025 have been announced by NY Highways with a total value of £74m.
The largest of the half-dozen contracts covered surface dressings and was awarded to Kiely Bros. Valued at £40m, it is set to run for an initial 12-month term, but allows for three possible extensions, each lasting a year.
Other deals also covered different aspects of surface treatments, such as the £9.3m high friction surfacing and other road markings contract, which was also awarded to Kiely Bros, this time in conjunction with WJ North, and shares the same initial year-long term and possibility of extensions.
A separate surfacing treatment contract was also agreed with Kiely Bros, with an estimated value of up to £4m. This was designed to cover the provision of surfacing treatments, including micro asphalt surfacing and retexturing across North Yorkshire, as well as the reinstatement of studs and road markings.
Not all of the contracts featured Kiely Bros, however. A property reactive maintenance deal was signed with construction company Tom Willoughby, with a value of up to £9.85m and a matching year-long initial term and three one-year extensions.
Highways arboriculture services in North Yorkshire will be provided jointly by Oakdale (NE), Treesaw and Thompson Tree Services after the companies signed a £1.1m contract with NY Highways.
Finally, NY Highways has procured new paving equipment (operated) hire suppliers for North Yorkshire. With a possible total run time of four years, DSD Construction, M.A Stanton & Sons and Richard Drake Contracting have taken on the £9.8m contract.
