National Highways has submitted a breach of contract filing against WSP in the High Court.

The national operator has declined to comment on the ongoing legal matter.  It has been reported that the filing is related to the consultancy's work as the lead advisor on the net zero agenda.

However, when asked to comment on the filing, a spokesperson for WSP said that ‘the projects and contracts referenced in recent coverage are not the subject of the court filing'.

When asked by Highways whether the filing was related to net zero, WSP declined to confirm or deny this.

WSP was the lead advisor on the strategic road authority's plan to achieve net zero by 2050, which was first launched in 2021 and formed a part of the Government's wider net zero strategy.
